Hot Young Blood

MOVIE

This movie was really enjoyable to me because it just made me imagine who I'd be in a scenario like that. Would I be one of the followers or the badass leader chick?  It was a little bit extreme at some parts and it felt a little too exaggerated at times. However, it was funny.
Basically Lee Jong Suk's character is a player. Park Bo Young's character is the leader of the girl gang. The leader in the boy gang liked her and allowed her to have this invincible position. However,  Park Bo Young continues to love her childhood friend (Lee Jong Suk) who has grown apart from her. As Lee Jong Suk begins to pursue the new girl from Seoul, Park Bo Young stays silent about it and watches with envy. She soon notices that the new girl may not be what everyone thinks she is. Upon that, she gets into a fight and leaves the school after being wrongly accused. Park Bo Young feels conflicted about her feelings for Lee Jong Suk while Lee Jong Suk is confused about his. She tells the gang leader guy that she doesn't like him and is willing to give her invincible position for Lee Jong Suk's safety, gets beat up after getting removed, and both find themselves and achieve goals before coming together once again.
It was very cute ending and I got a good laugh out of a lot of the parts. Some parts were not realistic but I don't think that was the movie's intention. It was more focused on adolescence and the comedic factor.

Enjoyed it....mainly because I just really love Lee Jong Suk and Park Bo Young and because there were just too many funny and exaggerated scenes.

Baby and I (Movie)

I watched the Korean movie with Jang Geun Suk called Baby and I. This was based on the manga Baby and Me. However, there are some differences. I did feel extremely bad for the main character because he was forced to take care of this baby that wasn't even his to begin with. It wasn't the best movie that I watched mainly because I still couldn't understand how something like this could happen. Other than that, it was comedic and light-hearted. 

Synopsis: 

       Han Joon Su is a high school student who is also a troublemaker. He always fights with his parents and does not obey them. He doesn't have a good relationship with his parents and his parents are sick of his behavior. One day, he found that his parents ran away from home because they couldn't stand him anymore. Despite the fact that his parents abandoned him to fend for himself, he continues to live on without shame or guilt. He feels more free and happy because of it all. That freedom only lasted so long. 

       One day he planned a party with his friends at his empty house and went shopping. After finding something and returning to his cart, he found a baby in the cart with a letter. Not knowing where the child came from, he was baffled. After reading the letter that said it would be better if the baby was raised by Joon Su, he is bewildered by it all and immediately tries to find the person who left the baby in his carriage. Unable to find out much, he is told to be the child's father for the time being till they find the real parent. The child's name, as written in the letter, is Han Woo Ram. Unwillingly, he began to act as the baby's father and he brings the child to school and his part-time job. This caused rumors to go around and also resulting in him getting suspended from school. Not only did the baby cause all these problems for him, he also had no money to take care of the child and himself. He ended up stealing powdered formula for the baby but the baby didn't like that. So he ended up begging women for milk. 

       During the time, he received help from an odd female student who fancied him. She knew her way with babies as she had a lot of younger siblings. Then just in time, his parents came back home and took over in taking care of the baby. They later find out that the baby's real father ju

st happened to be one of Joon Su's friends. That friend felt sorry and was going to take the baby to sign the child up for adoption. However, having already formed a connection with the baby, he refused to send Woo Ram away. In the end, he ends up working out a way to raise the child along with his friend.  

Don't Worry, I'm a Ghost (Movie)

This is a Korean movie that I watched. It was very enjoyable with such a bittersweet ending. I would recommend anyone to watch this because there was a great film and I am happy to have seen it. 

Synopsis: 

     The movie starts as a couple argue in the car and accidentally hit a person who was running across the road. That man is named Moon Ki, and after getting involved in a car accident, he wakes up in a hospital. He has a clear mind of what everything is and where he is, but he does not remember who he is. He can't remember his name, his family members, or where he lives. So he goes to the police and through fingerprint checks, he finds out who he is. While at the police station, he sees a woman sitting next to him. She fills him in on what his name is, where he lives, and his age. He is stunned and felt that he was going crazy and she kept on appearing. He goes home and goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he sees that same woman hovering in the air above his face. He is shocked and tries to run away from her...especially after she said that she was a ghost. He thought he was having delusions or dreaming. After a while, he finally calmed down to actually see what she wants from him.  

        He still did not recover his memories and he visited the doctor again. The doctor explained that had amnesia and will need to find his memory slowly. However, he now had another problem other than getting his memory back...the ghost. He's still not used to having her around and following him. After a while of leading this poor guy around, she takes him to her funeral. It shocks him and he sits with the ghost as they eat their food. People were whispering how she had died and rumors were that she died from being stabbed during a burglary. Moon Ki decides to ask her why she is following him and demands to know what he wants her to do. 

          He appears to look like a crazy person to others as he is talking to thin air. She tells him that its up to him to figure out how she died and to find his memory again...or she'll haunt him. She's pretty satisfied with how she's in control. She begins to show him his daily routine of life and what he did everyday as he got called by his boss to start delivering stuff. He was a delivery man and she worked at a flower shop that was opposite of the store that he would often go in. He came around once a week and she often sees him go into the convenience store to buy the same drink. He is baffled at how well she knows him.
        As the two argue on the bike, he almost got into another accident. As he parked his bike on the side, he began to have flashbacks. He wanders around with different flashbacks until he reaches an apartment building and he slips into the building as the two policemen are recording statements. The place is a crime scene and he paused in front of the door in which Yeon Hwa (the ghost) stands next to him. Yeon  Hwa tells him that this was her home and he opens the door. He has a strange flashback of him seeing her lying their dead and then he's running frantically away. He also notices a birthday cake when Yeon Hwa mentioned how it was her birthday that day. The reason why she's following him was because the last face she saw was his and she figured he was the only witness to her murder.
          He gets more flashbacks of a masked man and he says that there was someone else that day. He talks to the lady officer who works for the police of the scraps of memories he managed to recover. He figured that he was at her house because of a delivery for her birthday. These scraps of memories are not much help and she says that he should be careful in case he is followed by the killer. We notice that there was someone following them throughout this scene.
         However, he found out that he didn't have a delivery that day since he took off early. He was confused  and demands Yeon Hwa to tell him. She agrees but demands that she gets something in return. She ends up pushing him into the river. This was to spark some past memories to fill in the gaps. He remembers how he was saved by her when he jumped into the river. She scolded him for trying to jump into the Han River and said that he owed his life to her and that he must live to the fullest.
        A few years later, when she first opened the flower shop, she recognizes him right away. She had invited him to her house because she liked him. The two began to bond and he slowly begins to fall in love with Yeon Hwa. When he helps make a delivery from the flower shop for Yeonhwa's faithful customers (which were a couple of kind elderly people), he finds out that he probably had feelings for her when she was still alive. He goes online afterwards and tries to log into the webpage of the flower shop. He succeeds after typing in Yeonhwa's name and he sees the purchase records for the past year. He realized that he was the mysterious customer and that he had a crush on her for years. He decides to take Yeon Hwa out on a date doing random things which led to a hilarious moment in the movie theater.
        Afterwards, he began to get more flashbacks and he found Jin Soo (who was a close friend from the orphanage that they went to as children). Jin Soo appeared to be the attacker based on his memories and when they met, Jin Soo told him not to say anything and keep it a secret between them. He tells the police who he suspected and volunteers to capture the suspect. He manages to get Jin Soo as he demanded to know why he killed Yeon Hwa and that he would've been happy if it wasn't for him. Jin Soo, upset, pushes him back and shouts, "Why are you making me your scapegoat? You're the one who killed her."
        This was such a twist!
        They both get arrested and then they try to reenact the scene. He thinks about it and manages to remember that he was heading for her house for her birthday. His friend Jin Soo told him to come do a favor with him and that it would be quick. So he does and it turned out that Jin Soo was stealing from Yeonhwa's house. Moon Ki tries to stop Jin Soo and then the door opens as Yeon Hwa comes home. They hide. Jin Soo grabs Yeonhwa and threatens to stab her. In the struggle, Moon Ki went and grabbed the knife away in fear of harming the girl he liked. He fell down after getting pushed and then Yeon Hwa fell...right on the knife.
            He is behind bars when Yeon Hwa comes by to visit. She's crying and she says that he shouldn't have followed Jin Soo and should've went directly to her house. She tells him to live well and she walks away. He cries as he watches her fade.  He is later locked up in an asylum where the lady cop comes to check on him. The doctor explains that Moon Ki thinks that he still sees Yeon Hwa and the doctor says that it is probably because he loved that girl so much that he erased the memory of killing her and he believed that the "ghost" was only a delusional memory. However, whether it was a ghost or not, Moon Ki continued to live with the memory of Yeon Hwa. He asks in his mind how she is right now and if she is doing well. Then an image of her appears next to him as she says, "Don't worry, I'm a ghost." 

My Little Bride (Movie)

This is a Korean movie that was quite interesting, humorous, and cute. However, I do feel that it is unrealistic that the girl had to marry at such a young age. However, this was a good movie and it is recommended for all to check it out. 

Synopsis: 

       Boeun is a fifteen year old girl who is worried about her grades and going to college. She has a cute side and a fun side. She has a crush on Jungwoo, the ace on her school's baseball team, and is overjoyed when she finds out that he might have feelings for her too. Sangmin is a family friend. Sangmin's grandfather and Boeun's grandfather were comrades during the Korean War. Boeun's grandfather orders her to marry Sangmin because of a pact he made with Sangmin's grandfather. 

        Both of them were unwilling. Sangmin was a flirt and Boeun already had someone that she liked. They are forced to marry under her grandfather's influence and they get married. Boeun ditches Sangmin on their honeymoon by not getting on the plane. She starts to date Jungwoo while keeping her marriage life undercover. She felt it wasn't fair as she was forced to. Her friend felt that it was wrong but kept quiet about it. I had a feeling that she had a crush on Jungwoo also throughout the movie.Meanwhile, Boeun still continues on her relationship with Sangmin, they have a lot of arguments and play fights but their relationship begins to grow as Sangmin has feelings for her. Everything goes by smoothly until Sangmin decides to go to Boeun's school as a student teacher.

      At the school, there was a dramatic teacher called Miss Km and she begins to flirt with Sangmin. However, when she finds out that Sangmin and Boeun are married, she punishes Boeun by making her paint a huge wall. Sangmin watches her as she paints and even helps her without letting her know. Then, the family finds out about Boeun and Jungwoo dating. She realizes her mistake of cheating on Sangmin and apologizes  to him. Boeun began to realize that she actually really liked Sangmin. She also found out that Sangmin had been helping her from the friend that thought what she was doing was wrong. She breaks up with Jungwoo. to focus on her relationship with Sangmin. At the school festival, Sangmin is asked to make a speech and it reveals their marriage. Sangmin tells everyone that she was forced to marry him and hopes that everyone won't discriminate her because of their marriage. Boeun goes on stage and confesses her feelings for him. And it was a happy ending as they both realize their feelings for one another.

You're my Pet (Movie)

This was a very good movie. I watched the Japanese version before and after a few years later, I found this, so I decided to watch it. It's basically the same story line with a few differences. This is the Korean version of Kimi Wa Petto. The main leads were acted by Kim Ha Neul and Jang Geun Suk. It was very humorous and sweet and with a lot of humorous moments. It was also nice to see the girl as a strong character who just wants to be loved.

Synopsis: 
        Eun Yi works as an editor for a fashion magazine. She is a very strong and confident woman and she appears cold. She doesn't get along with her colleagues and she was dumped by her last boyfriend. She's very cold, tough, and seems to have no expression at all. In Ho was a ballet dancer. However, he lifted a female dancer once, but dropped her by accident. Due to the accident, that dancer could no longer dance. Therefore, he refused to dance with women from then on. In Ho now has hopes of being a musical choreographer but he has no place to stay. His friend, who happens to be  Eun Yi's little brother, decides to bring him over to his sister's house.
        He makes a deal with her saying that if he lets In Ho stay for one night, then he'll take care of their parents' situation so that they would never speak of divorce again. She agrees, thinking it was only for one night. However, her brother makes a different deal with In Ho. He makes In Ho pay rent and says that he can just enjoy the time at his sister's house. The next evening, Eun Yi walks home and she finds a large box in front of her home. She looks inside and sees In Ho. She brings him into her apartment and takes care of his injured arm. She then asked what he was doing here since he was only supposed to stay for that one night. In Ho said that he could pay rent. Since her brother wasn't staying at her apartment anymore, she angrily tried to contact him with no luck.
       Not wanting In Ho to stay with her, she attempts to scare him off. She says that she'll only let him stay if he pretends to be her dog (since she was considering on getting a dog like her old dog, Momo). Thinking that he'll leave since no one would want to act as a dog, she feels relaxed. In Ho, needing a place to stay, immediately gets on all fours and actually pretends to be a dog. This scares her and she tries to kick him out but he wouldn't leave. So for the time being, In Ho becomes Eun Yi's dog. She names him Momo for the time being and takes care of him also. He also has to listen to everything she says. They begin to become more comfortable with one another. This human  Momo reminds her a lot of her old dog. Momo was just as kind, comforting, and always there for her like her old dog. Eun Yi's first love, Cha Woo Sung, comes back. He shows interest in her and she shows interest in him. As they get along, In Ho began to feel jealous.
      When Woo Sung found out that the "Momo" Eun Yi spoke so fondly of was actually a human, their relationship ends. In Ho felt a bit guilty and asks her to watch his last performance before he goes to another country as the musical choreographer. She does.However, she decided that she actually had feelings for this Momo and went to go find him, she found out that he had already boarded the plane and left. She continues on in life with her co-workers believing that her dog had ran away. Her personality had changed for the better also as co-workers started getting along with her more. Then one day, when she went to open the taxi door, someone else did the same. It was In Ho. She immediately goes into her rage and starts hitting him (like she always did when he was still pretending to be her dog) and asked him where he went. She said that he was her pet and should be loyal. He said that he was planning to call her when he came back to Korea and she got furious saying that he didn't call her back since he was already in Korea. They had a cute argument and eventually got together. As the credits roll in, on the side, they show their relationship with one another and it was really cute.

I laughed a lot throughout this movie because it was cute and funny. It was enjoyable.

Hearty Paws (Movie)

This Korean movie was unbelievably beautiful and sad. It was fascinating to watch and you really feel yourself attached to that adorable and loyal dog. You can feel for the characters when you watch this movie. I absolutely enjoyed this movie. Not to mention, the main lead (besides the dog) is played by Yoo Seung Ho when he was a bit younger!
To be honest, the dog in this movie was absolutely amazing. That dog can act and the real dog's name is Dolly. So it's probably a girl. But I think the character of Hearty (the dog) is actually a boy because a the subtitles often wrote "he" for Hearty.

Synopsis:
        The movie starts with a young boy named Chan Yi stealing a puppy in the middle of the night. He wanted to give it to his sister, So Yi, as a birthday present. So Yi wakes up to discover a puppy by her side and loves him a lot. She names him Ma Eum (which was translated as Hearty in English subtitles). They raise the dog till its fully grown. So Yi loved the dog a lot and treated it as if it was her own baby and she played a lot with the dog. Chan Yi also liked the dog as it continued to grow older. So Yi always talked of her mom, waiting for her mom to come back. Whenever Chan Yi went to school, So Yi would play dress-up with Hearty and then go to the bus stop to pick her brother up. The dog was extremely good-natured and clever. He was very much liked by So Yi and Chan Yi and he returned their love with loyalty.
        Chan Yi, a young boy, is looking after his little sister So Yi. Their mother had left them to find her own future and almost seemed to have abandoned these two children. She left them with the neighbors. However, the neighbors later on left these two children also because they got relocated to another place for work, leaving them with a little bit of money. Despite being alone, the two continue on in life. The brother takes care of his little sister well. So Yi, the little girl adores the back pack that her mother had bought her and never lets it go. She's also scared of the dark and refuses to wash her hair with her eyes closed. The two share a lot of adorable moments with one another. The little girl liked to draw pictures. They helped one another and took care of one another in their own ways. She would wait at the bus stop for her brother to come home from school and he would tease her about wetting the bed. She would often cry and call her brother a bird brain. They were happy in their own way with just one another and Hearty.
         Just when it felt like this small family was going to be happy. A sudden accident causes it all to change. It was in the winter when they decided to go sledding and to play on the pond (the pond had frozen over). However when Chan Yi told So Yi to wait for him while he went to go behind the bushes to do his business, the unexpected happened. A kite fell on a certain part of the pond and Hearty started barking at it.
         "No, he told me to wait," she said, not noticing what Hearty was barking at. Hearty ran to the kite and was trying to pick it up when the ice underneath him buckled and he went underwater. By now, we all know that So Yi absolutely adores the dog. Hearty is her best friend. As the dog struggled to come out of the icy water, So Yi began to edge closer and closer to where the dog was. Chan Yi looked up from where he was in the bushes and noticed So Yi edging to that huge puddle in the ice. She turned around and said, "Oppa." He immediately started running towards where she was telling her to stay put. But then the ice broke and So Yi went down into the water. He tried to run towards them to save her but the people watching over the pond stopped him, in fear that he might also go underwater like the girl had. In the water, the backpack came off of So Yi and floated to the surface. Hearty managed to crawl to the side of the ice and be safe. So Yi didn't and drowned, the entire time the brother trying to reach her but being restricted by the man who worried about Chan Yi's safety also. So Yi passed away, leaving Chan Yi and Hearty behind. Hearty, thinking that So Yi would return, waited at the bus stop for her. Chan Yi stayed at home, depressed. When Hearty went to the house, Chan Yi beat the poor dog calling Hearty a mutt and telling Hearty to leave the house.
          Chan Yi started carrying his little's sister back pack everywhere. The dog, still loyal as ever, began to follow Chan Yi around at a distance. Chan Yi decided to go find his mother and tell him about their situation and So Yi's death. Hearty was unable to go on the train with him and followed the entire way on the train tracks and using different tactics to get food. Chan Yi finds his mother but was greeted with a rather confused and annoyed mother. The mother didn't even know why he came "all of a sudden." It made him feel like a burden. He listened to his mother on the phone and heard her say, "I'm not taking him, okay?" Then at night, he saw his mother drinking and letting out deep sighs. This made him feel horrible to know that his mother didn't want him there. The next morning she says that she's going to America and won't be coming back. He was unable to tell his mother about what happened to So Yi and he left. He confided in So Yi's back pack which sort of represents her in a way. The entire time, Hearty was trying to get to Chan Yi and it was so touching how the dog wanted to be with Chan Yi.
           By himself, he meets two beggar children that were making up sob stories to earn money. They take him to their leader and he stays with them. He puts his sister's bag in a safe for the time being, but remembering that she was scared of the dark, he placed a light in the safe with her backpack. At that time Hearty managed to find the safe where So Yi's back pack was placed and stayed there all night, head leaned against the safe. Chan Yi starts to work with the other beggar children to get money in public transport. He makes friends with the girl that worked with him. Then Hearty found Chan Yi and started following him to where he was currently staying at. Hearty was mistreated at the place as the leader tried to turn him into a "real dog." It turned out the leader wasn't a nice guy and was using the kids to earn money. He would beat them if he felt like they earned less. The kids were all scared of the leader and after managing to escape, Chan Yi encounters the leader again. This time the leader is ready to get the kid and kill him. Hearty follows Chan Yi and takes care of him when he was sleeping in the subway station. Hearty used newspaper to cover him and managed to get a sandwich for Chan Yi. Hearty's eyes were also deteriorating (he had acute glaucoma). The dog can't see but continues to follow Chan Yi. Chan Yi feels bad and sorry for hurting the dog as he still loves the dog. Chan Yi wants to help Hearty by getting Hearty's eyes treated.
          However Chan Yi got weaker and weaker. Police officials finally find Chan Yi in the subway and take him to the police station. However the leader kidnaps Chan Yi and plans to kill him by drowning him. Hearty runs after the car for Chan Yi, trying to save Chan Yi, despite having a deteriorating eyesight. The bad guy tries to drown Chan  Yi by placing a hose in this container that continued to fill up. Hearty pulls away the hose but gets severely injured by the bad guy. Thankfully, Chan Yi is okay. Hearty is in pain but Chan Yi says that he wants to take Hearty home and let Hearty rest there. His mother, meanwhile, found out what happened to So Yi and went to their home to find Chan Yi. She realized how much they were suffering and went to go find Chan Yi and apologize. But Chan Yi is hateful towards her after suffering though so much.
          They go back to their home where Hearty continues to be in pain. One day Hearty urgently pulls on Chan Yi's jeans and Chan Yi realizes that Hearty wanted to go somewhere. Hearty wanted to go to the bus stop...to wait for So Yi. There Chan Yi tells Hearty that he stole him as a puppy, he told Hearty that he was sorry for being mean when he came to find him, he told Hearty that if he really missed So Yi, he can go find her. He also tells Hearty to remember all the good times the three had together.
           "I love you, Hearty," Chan Yi says and Hearty passes away to go find So Yi in heaven. He's heartbroken. After a while, his mother finally comes home to take on the role as a mother. As if a spirit was there, the picture that So Yi had drawn (that had fell underneath the desk) floated out and settled next to Chan Yi. The picture was a drawing of Chan Yi, So Yi, Hearty, and their mother all happy. The ending was sweet in its own way. This time instead of So Yi waiting at the bus stop with Hearty, it was Chan Yi waiting for So Yi at the bus stop. She gets off the bus. Chan Yi gets up and Hearty does too, energetically. The three of them run down the path as petals fly towards them. They are happy. And it ends with Chan Yi running forward and then stopping to look back. I guess it was way of showing that Chan Yi was going to always remember the happy memories the three of them had shared.

This movie is definitely heart-wrenching and it will bring you to tears, but I recommend it.

Heaven's Postman (Movie)

This is a Korean movie with Jaejoong and Han Hyo Joo acting as the main leads. I didn't expect it to have this sort of story line when I first saw the title. But I truly enjoyed this movie though I felt that it could've been longer and  I wished that the characters could've shared some more emotions and happy memories. However, I was satisfied with the movie because it was magnificent in its own way.

Synopsis: 
       Jae Joon is a mailman. He is not our typical mailman and he takes the letters that people write from this red mailbox in the middle of a grassy area. He delivers these letters from loved ones and friends to Heaven. Ha Na, a young girl, writes hateful letters to her deceased lover. She writes angrily towards him. Jae Joon talks to her and listens to her story. She talks angrily of how he was already with another woman when he dated her and she cried tears of sadness. She spoke of how he never really loved her. Jae Joon listened to her story and took the mail. She got curious of what he was doing with the mail and followed him around. She thought his job was to just read the mail and then help the loved ones that wrote the letter.
       She had asked him who he was and he had replied that he was an angel. She didn't take it literally, of course. They begin to hang out with one another as they help others deal with losing a friend or family member and also try to help them feel more comforted that their loved ones are in a better place. It begins a short romance between the two. He listens to her and loved her. He seemed to be very emotionless as she was going on an emotional rollercoaster. However, as she began to forget her deceased lover and start loving Jae Joon, she noticed that there were times where he would disappear. This scared her as she realized that he was fading away from her. He told her that it was because she had moved on and that only the people who didn't move on could see him. As he slowly started disappearing more often, this brings a lot of heartache to Ha Na and Jae Joon.
         The memories that she shared together slowly disappeared too.  She remembers them and he remembers them, but the pictures they took and the letters he wrote all changed. The letters disappeared and he disappeared from the pictures they took together. She continues to live her life. Jae Joon was actually involved in an accident that resulted in him in a coma. This was a reason why he was able to travel from the human world to the afterlife. He wakes up from his coma and meets Ha Na again and it was a beautiful beginning for those two again.

19 (movie)

This was a Korean movie that I actually found quite interesting. Yes, I'm a bit late...but I still watched it. It has Big Bang Top and Seungri in this movie and they did a pretty good job.

Synopsis:
        When a girl, that all three of our main characters knew, died, they were the suspects for murder. The people interrogating them almost seemed to push all the blame on them, framing them as the murderers. In their anger for they were innocent, all three of them ran out of the interrogation room and ended up running away from the police. These three had different backgrounds and lives and ended up meeting one another in this situation.
        They believe each other that they are not the murderer of the dead girl. In order to prove their innocence, they begin to learn from one another and try to find out the true murderer. These three never asked each other's names until the very end for they felt names, age, school, and so forth didn't matter about them as a person. However, they became close with one another, finding out the meaning of life, goals, love, and friendship. They learn from their experience as they find the true murderer and running away from the police. Throughout their journey, they form a friendship and also begin linking clues together from what they knew of the girl before the girl died.

This was a good movie about coming of age and also being a teenager and growing up in this situation. It was an interesting movie and it is recommended for all of you to check it out, if you haven't.

A Werewolf Boy movie

        This movie was absolutely amazing. It was a very innocent yet touching movie. It didn't have a lot of lovey-dovey skinship nor did it have any kiss scenes. But it was special and fascinating in its own way. It had the same impact as a movie would if it had all the kiss scenes. I felt that the love the boy had for the girl was unconditional, it was sort of like how a dog gives his/her owner unconditional love and it made it just feel fascinating, beautiful, and special.

SPOILERS CONTAINED IN SYNOPSIS.

This was a fantasy romance film considering the guy was kind of like a monster since he didn't age and could turn into a wolf boy. However, he was innocent, kind, loyal, and basically harmless towards people. He was just a very calm sort of person. So I shall begin my synopsis of this movie. 

Synopsis:

          At the start, you see an elderly woman living in the United States, and she receives a phone call about the sale of her old home in the country side in South Korea. She goes back to South Korea and with her granddaughter Eun Joo, they drive to the countryside and stay for the night at the house. They reach the house and  Eun Joo says that the house looks scary and the grandmother begins the story back to the time when she was beautiful and young like Eun Joo. The grandmother's name is Soon Yi.  

          She recalls back to 1965 when she, herself, was still a teenager. Soon Yi had just moved with her mother and sister to a country house for her health (she has problems with her lungs). Her father had passed away and so a guy named Ji Tae had bought the house for them. Ji Tae is the arrogant son of the business partner of Soon Yi's late father. One night, she notices a shadow in the outhouse, and gets freaked out. Yet she went to go check it out and got startled by this figure that ran outside. She didn't know what it was. According to their neighbors, the previous owner of that house used to raise wolves in the outhouse before he had died. 

        The next day, while doing laundry, she notices a messy boy and appeared to be homeless and acted like a dog, growling, eating messily, and also couldn't talk. The boy was probably around nineteen years old and he was just different from others. His body temperature was 46 degrees Celsius, his blood type was unidentifiable, and he couldn't read or speak. He behaves like a dog or a beast. Soon Yi's mother was kind hearted and didn't want to go through all the problems with paperwork and so she allows the boy to stay with them and names him Chul Soo (the name her husband would've given to a son if they had one). They suspected that he might've been a child orphaned in the Korean War. 

         At first, Soon Yi is annoyed with Chul Soo. He was messy, strange, and a bit scary. However, she got closer to Chul Soo by training him according to a dog training book. She starts off with, "Wait," so that he could wait patiently before a meal and without being messy when eating. She begin to teach him how to wear clothes and other human behavior and tried teaching him to write and speak. She  began to have some feelings towards Chul Soo and Chul Soo responded with loyalty, unconditional love, and attention for she was the only person who actually helped and showed him affection. The two begin to have some feelings of love between one another. 

        Ji Tae likes Soon Yi and begins to cause trouble throughout the movie afterwards. Chul Soo let his instincts take over him and he even shifted into the beast within him. In fear that he may get caught and then killed, they went into the woods. There Soon Yi told him to go away or else he would be killed. She had to slap him, yell at him, and throw things at him even if it hurt her. In order to save the life of Chul  Soo, she made a promise to get him to hide from the other people, saying: "Wait for me. I'll come back for you." 

       After all these years, now that she was an old lady, she finally made her return to the countryside. Now, her granddaughter, Eun  Joo looks the way the grandmother did when the grandmother was a teenager and noticed someone outside staring at her. The grandmother afterwards saw Chul Soo again and he didn't age either. She understood that he had waited for her to be with her and he had learned to read and speak. They couldn't be together though and that was the heart-wrenching part. 

        However, this movie was beautiful, inspiring, and just perfect even without kiss scenes or a lot of skinship that you normally see in romance movies/dramas. This was just a very innocent movie and I recommend you all try to watch this.  

71 Into the Fire (Movie)

This is a Korean war movie. If you want to see a good movie or just a war film in particular, this may be the right pick for you. This really showed you how courageous young people could be at a time when they need to protect and serve their country as well as to survive themselves. This movie was based on a true story of a group of 71 student soldiers that were not trained and not well equipped who held back an attack for 11 hours at P'ohang-dong girls' middle school that ended up being a strategic point for safeguarding the Nakdong  River from the attack of North Korean forces. The end of this movie even had one or two people that are now a lot older, who were actually student soldiers at this battle and they spoke of how scary it was to see a large amount of people running at them. It was a really good movie that truly touched me and I will always remember this movie.
                                             
Synopsis: 
           Oh Jung Beom is played by Big Bang Top. He is a young teenage student who has already been in battle with other soldiers and witnessed the death of comrades and was with the leader at the hospital when the leader passed away. Traumatized, he walks out of the hospital, and sees many teenagers who had come to defend their country. These 71 teenagers were inexperienced and started off acting as if everything was just a game.  They had never shot a gun and were very cocky.
         Oh Jung Beom, still a student himself, was forced into the position of being a leader of this student-soldier unit since he has had combat experience at the war front. Not all of the student soldiers listened to him as there were three students that were cocky, knew how to fight, and were considered bad students. These students differed in personality. Some were strong and others were nerdy kids. They were taught how to fire a gun and most didn't even have the experience. The other soldiers that were more experienced left for the war front and these student-soldiers were left at this middle school to defend this point. However, after fighting a few battles together, getting to know each other, and live with one another, they became closer and they became more serious overtime.
        However, they were attacked by a large North Korean army. These students all became heroes in the end and they managed to hold out against the advancing North Korean army for 11 hours before help finally came for them. The students all died heroic deaths. The bad students actually left the middle school saying that they will all die if they stay. However, during the battle, they came back after stealing a tank from the North Korean army and they stood together during the battle. Everyone took part and they even made bombs with what they had. It was a touching story as it shows how much these students went through and how hard they fought to protect and defend their country and how they managed to actually secure their area which led to a turning point in the Korean War.

      This movie was a beautiful true story, portraying those brave and courageous student-soldiers.
