These are podcasts that I recommended:
1. GeniusBrain
This podcast features comedian and online personality, David So, as he talks with friends of various backgrounds. It is done in a way that is both funny and personable but important issues and life advice get talked about.
This became one of my favorite podcasts after the one episode where he talked with two of his friends about their businesses, what it takes to be a good employer, and also their struggles with infertility. It was a very real talk and great insight into another person's career and personal life.
2. Dr. Death
We trust our health system to protect us from malpractice. This podcast talks in-depth about Christopher Duntsch, a medical doctor and researcher. He had numerous cases of surgical malpractice leaving many patients paralyzed or dead, and he became recognized as a threat to many patients. This story talks about how hospitals never reported his malpractice in fear of getting sued, how the medical board didn't act on the complaints against him, and how other doctors/reporters/lawyers had to take matters into their own hands to push for him to get his medical license suspended and for him to get jailed.
I felt that this was very well-done. It respected the patients and also told the story from a fairly objective standpoint. It even included reactions and commentary from individuals who worked to stop him.
3. Hey B*tch
A podcast run by the girls of JK Family. This is the sort of podcast where it feels like your crazy, wild sisters/best friends are sharing their stories and advice about life, sex, love, and careers. It just feels nice when you just want to have some extra perspectives on what the woman experience differs. I do not agree with everything they say but I appreciate the insight they provide me. Feels very real.
I also find it extremely cool when they invite guests of strong women in untraditional career paths such as a scriptwriter for PornHub, an undercover female cop, and so forth.
4. Views - David Dobrik & Jason Nash
I listen to this because I enjoy the online presence David and Jason have on Youtube. They have some crazy stories and it is enjoyable when I want to destress. It's like listening to two friends goof around and tell random stories. It doesn't always hold much substance but it is a good thing to listen to when you just don't want to really think and you just want to destress.
5. RadioLab- In The No
A very interesting topic of the gray areas of consent! It includes personal anecdotes, takes from professionals who work with sexual assault/rape cases, and also perspectives from students on college campuses.
The concept of consent has a lot of gray areas and it was really cool to see these features explored in this podcast. It's a quick listen but it sucks you in right away!
Here are some educational shows I recommend:
1. Patriot Act
2. Sex, Explained
3. The Mind, Explained
4. Explained series
